Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Jabal Coffee LLC, a limited liability company operating as Jabal Coffee House ("Jabal," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of our online booking platform at booking.jabalcoffeehouse.com and the services we provide through it (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, reserving a room, or making a payment, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate.

2. Accounts

You may use the Service as a guest or by creating an optional account through our authentication provider. If you create an account you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

3. Bookings

3.1 Reservations

When you complete a booking, you are reserving a private room at a Jabal Coffee House location for the date, time, and duration you selected. Your booking is confirmed once we receive full payment and send you a confirmation email with a unique confirmation code.

3.2 Capacity and use

You agree that the number of people using the room will not exceed the posted capacity and that you and your guests will use the room lawfully, respect the location's staff and other customers, and abide by any posted rules. You are responsible for the conduct of your guests.

3.3 Reschedules

You may reschedule a confirmed booking to another available time on or before the booking's start time, at no additional cost, provided the new time is available and meets the same duration. Reschedules are processed through your booking confirmation page.

3.4 Cancellations and refunds

All bookings are non-refundable. If you need to cancel, please call the location directly at the phone number shown on your confirmation email. Cancellation is at the discretion of the location manager and any refund is granted only in exceptional circumstances at our sole discretion.

3.5 No-shows and late arrivals

If you do not arrive during the reserved time, the room remains reserved for you and no refund is due. Late arrival does not extend the booking.

3.6 Our right to cancel

We may cancel a booking and issue a full refund if we reasonably believe the booking was made fraudulently or cannot be honored due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (for example, facility closure, maintenance emergency, or legal order). In those cases we will contact you using the email on file.

3.7 Termination for cause

We may end an in-progress booking, deny entry, or remove you from the premises without refund if you, your guests, or anyone using your reservation:

(a) violate these Terms or any rules posted at the location;

(b) cause damage to the room, the building, or any equipment;

(c) generate noise that disturbs other customers, neighbors, or staff after we have asked you to lower it;

(d) tamper with, disconnect, or attempt to repair audio-visual equipment, lighting, climate controls, or door hardware;

(e) exceed the room's stated capacity;

(f) bring in or consume alcohol, controlled substances, or smoke or vape any product on the premises;

(g) engage in unlawful, threatening, or harassing conduct; or

(h) refuse a lawful instruction from staff.

In any of these cases no refund is owed and you may be charged for any damage as described in Section 3.8.

3.8 Responsibility for damage

You are responsible for any damage caused during your booking by you, your guests, or anyone using your reservation, including damage to walls, furniture, fixtures, lighting, audio-visual equipment, door hardware, and decor. We may charge the payment method on file or invoice you for the cost of repair or replacement, plus a reasonable cleaning fee if the room is left in a state requiring more than ordinary cleaning. By making a booking you authorize these charges. We will document any damage with photographs and provide an itemized accounting.

3.9 Door access codes

Some rooms are equipped with smart locks. When you book one of those rooms we may issue a unique access code valid only during your booking window. When a code is issued it is for you and your invited guests — sharing it publicly or with anyone outside your reservation is a violation of these Terms, and you are responsible for any access granted using your code during your booking window. For rooms without a smart lock, or in the rare case a code cannot be issued, our staff will let you in when you arrive.

3.10 What's included

Your booking covers use of the reserved private room only. Food and drinks are not included and must be purchased separately from the Jabal Coffee House location's counter. Outside food and drinks may not be brought into the room.

3.11 Service charge

Some locations apply a mandatory service charge to bookings. When applicable, the service charge is shown as a separate line item at checkout and on your confirmation. It is in addition to the room rate and any applicable sales tax, and is retained by the location.

4. Payments

4.1 Payment processor

Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment information you authorize us and Stripe to charge the payment method you selected for the full amount of your booking including any applicable taxes.

4.2 Currency

All prices are displayed in the currency shown during checkout. Currency conversion, foreign-transaction fees, and exchange-rate differences imposed by your card issuer are your responsibility.

4.3 Taxes

We calculate and collect applicable sales taxes through Stripe Tax based on the location of the room. The tax amount is shown at checkout and on your confirmation.

4.4 Disputes and chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us at contact@jabalcoffeehouse.com before initiating a chargeback. Unjustified chargebacks may result in suspension of your ability to book with us.

5. Acceptable Use

When using the Service you agree not to:

  1. use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
  2. reserve rooms using false information, stolen payment methods, or on behalf of someone else without their authorization;
  3. interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or the networks connected to it;
  4. attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or any user's account;
  5. use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access the Service, except as expressly permitted;
  6. copy, modify, or create derivative works from the Service or its content;
  7. harass, threaten, or harm Jabal staff or other customers at a location;
  8. operate the room at noise levels that disturb other customers, neighbors, or staff after a request to reduce noise;
  9. tamper with, modify, disconnect, repair, or attempt to "fix" televisions, audio equipment, lighting controls, climate controls, smart-lock keypads, or any other equipment in the room;
  10. re-arrange furniture or fixtures in a way that is unsafe or that cannot be returned to its original arrangement;
  11. bring in or consume alcohol or controlled substances, or smoke or vape any product on the premises;
  12. allow more people in the room than its stated capacity, or admit anyone outside your booking party;
  13. bring outside food or drinks into the room (refreshments must be purchased from the Jabal Coffee House location).

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Jabal Coffee House" name, is owned by Jabal Coffee LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.

7. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

You are responsible for your own conduct during your reservation and for any personal items you bring to a Jabal Coffee House location. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JABAL COFFEE LLC AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (\$100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions the limitations above apply to the fullest extent permitted.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jabal Coffee LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Michigan. You and Jabal consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts and waive any objection to venue.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the Service before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Miscellaneous

  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
  • No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not waive that right or provision.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control.
